Former prosecutor general Muhuthaz Muhusin and Alif Dhaal Maamigili Magistrate Ahmed Nihan are being charged with terrorism.
Muhusin's defense lawyer said that according to the chit provided by authorities, his client is being charged with terrorism.
According to the lawyer, Muhuthaz is being charged under Article 4,5 and 6 of the new anti-terrorism act, passed last year. magistrate Nihan is also being charged with terrorism.
Both Muhusin and Nihan were arrested on February 7, over the allegedly "invalid" warrant issued for President Abdulla Yameen's arrest.
The same day, Maldives Police Service (MPS) had issued a press briefing revealing that they are investigating a group of individuals who collaborated to "make" a "fake court document" purporting it to be a court warrant for the arrest of President Yameen.
On Monday, Criminal Court had ruled to remand Magistrate Nihan until the end of his trial.
The Court's ruling came a day after the Prosecutor General's Office pressed three charges against former Prosecutor General Muhuthaz Muhsin and four charges against magistrate Nihan.
The magistrate is being with misusing official position, forging documents, manipulating legal procedure and committing a wrongful action during the discharge of official duties.
Muhsin, also arrested regarding the "forged" warrant, is being charged with attempting to detain an individual arbitrarily, forging official documents and manipulating legal procedure.
A day after the Criminal Court decided to release Muhusin after 25 days in detention, the High Court ordered a seven day remand for the former Prosecutor General.
