Shiyam was summoned to police headquarters on accusations of threatening
police, his lawyer Hassan Latheef has said.
Shiyam was summoned to the police headquarters at 02:30 pm on Wednesday in relation to an ongoing investigation where he is accused of threatening police officers inside Breakwater Restaurant on 28th November.
Lawyer Hassan said the ongoing investigation was launched under the Clause 120, 122 and 511 of the Penal Code. They are clauses concerning threatening to harm physically, using false information for threatening and obstructing official police duties.
“They are basing the accusation on a communication between police and Shiyam with reference to the Penal Code.”
Shiyam has denied the allegation. He denied issuing any form of threats to police officers.
