A march, calling for former President Nasheed’s release, has been held in B.Thulhaadhoo yesterday.
While senior officials of the Maldivian Democratic Party were warmly welcomed by the people of B.Thulhaadhoo, dozens of people participated in the march held yesterday evening.
Addressing the crowd at the march, MP for Addu Meedhoo Constituency, Rozeyna Adham, said that the MDP was determined to expand its activities to all across the country, and vowed to continue protesting until President Yaameen obliged to the opposition’s demands.
“The Government has turned a blind eye to our suffering. They have ignored our demands. We will continue this fight for freedom until all political prisoners, including the former President, are released”, she said.
The MDP also held a rally in Thulhaadhoo at 9pm last night.
