President Yaameen is in a state of emergency
following the announcement of the MDP ‘Minjuvaan’ protest, MP for Addu
Meedhoo Constituency Rozaina Adam has said.
Speaking at the ‘Minjuvaan’ rally at Artificial Beach area last night, Rozaina said that the country was witnessing a President who was failing to rule despite hijacking all the independent institutions of the country.
She further highlighted the fact that President Yaameen had started avoiding public appearances after the presidential boat blast, and described him as a coward.
Pointing to the Home Minister’s orders to the police last night regarding the MDP protest, she said that the Home Minister was repeating what the recently impeached Vice President Ahmed Adeeb did, and claimed that he would soon have the same fate as Adheeb.
Rozaina, who is one of the five women parliamentarians in the Peoeple’s Majlis, noted that importance of continuing the struggle for justice and democracy if the people of Maldives wanted to free themselves of President Yaameen’s tyranny.
