Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has said that around 25,000
supporters would take part in the protest planned for Friday.
At a press briefing, MDP Spokesperson Imthiyaz Fahmy said that around 5,000 people from the atolls would be coming to Male’ for the protest.
He said that boats from the atolls, packed with supporters for the opposition party’s campaign, were arriving in Male’.
Imthiyaz stated that a total of 25,000 people are expected to take part in the protest, including 20,000 from Male’.
Earlier, MDP revealed that the protest would be held for over 72 hours with a mass rally in the streets of Male’.
