Speaking during a press conference, lawyer Hisan Hussain said in addition to the arbitrary detention of the ex-president, authorities have continued to violate his rights.
Nasheed is being denied medical assistance and the right to meet his attorneys, she added.
Hisan also said a spotlight has been fixed outside Nasheed's cell which is kept on day and night. The spotlight, she said, amounts to torture tactics by the prison authorities.
"
This is clearly against the law and constitutes to inhumane punishment," Hisan said.
She also said the correctional service has denied Nasheed medical help. Doctors over a month ago had advised that Nasheed needed surgery, but that is yet to be followed up, she added.
Prison authorities have not shared Nasheed's medical records with his lawyers or family, she added.
Maldives’ international partners including the EU, US, UK and the UN had said his rushed trial was seriously flawed.
The Maldives is facing increased international pressure over Nasheed’s imprisonment, following a UN panel ruling in the former president’s favour.
The UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention made its ruling in the report made public early last month after Nasheed filed the case claiming that his detention was unlawful.
The five-member independent panel called for his immediate release.
The government has on several occasions rejected the UN panel’s ruling.
Nasheed’s lawyers and his party are pushing for targeted sanctions against the government and top officials.
Their calls for sanctions have received backing from several international personalities and bodies including the UK’s ruling Conservative Party.
