MDP’s Parliamentary group leader Ibrahim Mohamed Solih (Ibu) has said
that the country needs to be freed from the fear and tortured that has
taken over the country.
While speaking in the Minjuvun protest organized by MDP Ibu said that
the reason for the protest was because the government is unable to lead
the country and the situation of the country has deteriorated and the
safety of the citizens is not assured.
“There are many things that concern us for Maldives. There is no
guarantee of progress in this country without getting freed. Maldives is
now under a heavy cloud of fear and torture. No one is safe. Laws are
not followed. The leaders are doing what they want."
Ibu said while the government was doing whatever they want whenever they
want the citizens were getting indebted. Iboo had highlighted that the
country will be indebted by 46 billion. He also said that the purpose of
the parliament was to protect the government instead of representing
the citizens.
Ibu has said that the trial on Colonel Nazim and President Nasheed was
unfair. He also said that 6 months has passed since Sheikh Imran has
been kept imprisoned unfairly.
Ibu has also said that over 50 percent of the people do not support President Yameen.
