A bank statement of Yameen has been leaked by some people showing that he has a substantial wealth stocked up at HSBC in Singapore.

Page 5 of the statement dated 20th November 2008, shows his net position being over 45.9 Singapore dollars (almost 32 million US$). It is shown as deposits and investments.

The account appears to have been opened in Abdulla Yameen’s own name but in the Care of a Raymond S. NG, of Hess Energy Trading Co. Singapore.

A quick Google search revealed that HETCO is in fact an energy trading company. Could there be links with oil trades and this money, paid to Yameen as commission?

About Hess Energy Trading Company (HETCO)

Hess Energy Trading Company (HETCo) is a partly owned affiliate of Hess Corporation, a US listed integrated oil and gas company. HETCo is a proprietary trading company and market maker focusing exclusively on the energy sector and which trades extensively in physical oil and gas and in the financial energy markets. No wonder Yameen is worried about the Presidential Commission investigating corruption cases of people like him and his associates.

One thing is certain, Yameen does not come from a wealthy family nor does he have businesses to amass this wealth.

Here is a good quiz to end this note.

Where did all this money come from?

1. Kaaminee Family inheritance.

2. He will disclose and declare these assets to the Majlis

3. He wants to increase his wealth by gaining power in politics

4. He wants to gain power in politics to increase his wealth

5. He has nothing to worry about from the Fraud Commission

6. All of the above
