President Abdulla Yameen has not requested the return of Vice President Dr. Mohamed Jameel Ahmed, says President’s Office Spokesperson Ibrahim Muaz Ali.
Muaz made the comments in response to social media reports that President Abdulla Yameen wishes the return of Vice President Dr. Jameel.
Although the President does not request Dr. Jameel’s return, CNM has learnt that the President refused to grant leave for the Vice President.
Dr. Jameel abruptly departed to Sri Lanka on Thursday with his return scheduled for Sunday. However, he departed to London on Saturday night.
A no confidence motion against the Vice President will be submitted to the People’s Majlis today.
Meanwhile, the parliament regulation has been amended to omit the committee stage in order to expedite the dismissal of Dr. Jameel.
