Maldives has signed the Articles of Agreement to be a member of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB).
Finance Minister Abdulla Jihad signed the Articles of Agreement as a ceremony in Beijing, China’s The Great Hall of the People.
AIIB is an international financial institution established by the Chinese government.
China claims that AIIB established with a USD 50 billion investment will empower developmental and infrastructural projects in Asia region.
In addition to the Maldives, 50 more countries signed the AIIB Articles of Agreement today.
